Elite athletes

Assistance is available with a range of support available including complimentary entry and possible travel grants and accommodation to suitable athletes based on recent performances. As a guide to eligibility for support female sub three hours and male sub two hours and thirty minutes marathon performances on World Athletics certified courses will be given consideration for support. Note, the 2025 full marathon will double as the official New Zealand Marathon Championships for MASTERS AGE GRADES ONLY.

Elite Drinks

There will be an elite athlete drink service for the Red Stag Rotorua Marathon event only. Athletes utilising this service need to be selected as an elite athlete. The elite special drink stations are at aid station three, aid station six, aid station eight and aid station eleven (see aid station map). All elite special drinks must be dropped in the relevant baskets/bins at event registration by 8.00pm on Friday 2nd May for distribution around course on event day.
