| Drop off & Parking | Event Transport | Drop off only is available at the main Te Puia entrance. There is carparking available in the southern Te Puia carpark accessible from the Hemo Roundabout. | A user pays bus service will be operated from outside the iSite on Fenton Street to Te Puia from 7.00am until 7.45am. The cost is $7.50 which includes bag drop at Te Puia and return to the finish area for collection by the participant. Note: bag drop only available to participants who have purchased a bus ticket. |
| Minimum Age | Go Media 12km entrants must be 14 years or older on race day to compete. |
| Time Limit | Official event timing will cease at 5.00pm. Those crossing the finish line after this time will be deemed not to have finished and will not be eligible for the finisher's medal. |
| Prize Giving | The prize giving for the Go Media 12km Presented by Te Puia will take place at 12.00pm on the Lakefront Reserve across the street from the Novotel Rotorua. You must be present to collect your prize. Merit awards for the Go Media 12km Presented by Te Puia event will also be given out. |
| Go Media 12km Teams Event | You can enter a team of 5 to each run or walk the 12km event together - FOR THE PRICE OF 4! Prizes for the winning and best dressed teams. |
| Walkers | Walkers are welcome to enter the event. For clarity, walkers are included in the overall event results. Walkers will be seeded in waves based on their estimated 10km walk time submitted when entering the event. Walkers should keep left at all times.. | Merchandise | Event t-shirts are not included in your entry however can be pre-ordered on the Rotorua Marathon website (prior to Mark & Tina to affirm date here) or a limited number will be available to purchase at the expo. All pre-ordered merchandise is pick up only from the event registration & expo at Novotel Rotorua commencing Thursday evening 1st May (see event registration & expo times here). Uncollected merchandise will not be sent out post-event. |

Course
This will be the Red Stag Rotorua Marathon’s unique fusion of geothermal, sculpted limestone trails, forest trails, off road and tarmac travelling from Te Puia’s Pohutu Geyser to Lake Rotorua via the magical Whakarewarewa Forest with a distance of 12km. The Go Media 12km presented by Te Puia will be a running and walking symphony of the senses for people with an appetite for adventure looking for variety in their run and walk and ideal to share the journey with family and friends.

You can enter a team of 5 to each run or walk the 12km event together - FOR THE PRICE OF 4!
How to create a team:
Select the Go Media Run/Walk (12km) entry type when entering and answer the team questions at Step 3
Once at least 4 members have entered using the same team name send an email containing your team name to marathon@athletics.org.nz
A member of our team will then supply you with instructions and a code for the 5th member of your team to use and enter for free.
Note: for teams larger than 5 entrants, only the 5th, 10th, 15th etc entrant is free of charge.
